Easter has always been one of my favorite holidays and celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ is very important for our family’s faith. I also love to fill the Easter baskets, dye eggs, and talk about the Easter Bunny coming into town as well!
Below, I share a roundup of fun toddler and preschooler activities and crafts for the week before Easter that incorporates the importance of Easter and focusing on Jesus as well as crafts about spring and the Easter Bunny.
These crafts are a roundup from other women who blog and share their amazing ideas! We had so much fun doing these I had to share!
Palm Sunday – Day 1
I loved doing this Palm Sunday craft with Izzy this past weekend. We made our very own Hosanna Branch Wavers by Mommy Snippets by tracing our hands on green construction paper, cutting them out, and taping each hand to a stick.
You can also use a Popsicle stick instead of a branch. After reading the story of Palm Sunday in Matthew 21:1-11 where the story of Jesus entering Jerusalem and be honored as he rode in on a donkey, we walked out to our street and waved our palm branch craft.
Monday – Day 2
On Monday, my toddler used a fork to paint feathers on his Easter Chick inspired by MasandPas. After using the fork to create the feathers, we glued on two googley eyes and a peak.
Tuesday – Day 3
The Easter Bunny is on his way, and to celebrate we made our own Easy Paper Plate Bunny Craft by ABC Creative Learning! This paper plate bunny is so easy to make, your toddler will finish this craft in a hop, hop, HOP!
Wednesday – Day 4
On Wednesday, we decided to create an Easter Egg Sensory Bin by Happy Toddler Playtime for a fun, Easter tactile activity. I used rice instead of oats, but both would work!
Holy Thursday – Day 5
I loved sharing about doing both of these crafts on the same day, because we can have the fun of celebrating spring and also remember the significance of the day. The carrot footprint is a fun, food craft to do for your tot to pretend they are making it for supper. I also wanted to share a meaningful coloring sheet to tell the story of the Last Supper to my toddler.
Good Friday – Day 6
On Good Friday, we read the story of how Jesus was crucified on the cross and colored the Three Crosses coloring page by Family Holiday.
Easter Sunday – Day 7
After dyeing Easter eggs this weekend and having an Easter Egg Hunt, we made sure to do a craft about how Jesus has risen! We created a Jesus is Alive Hand Flower Pot by Luella Craft Blog to celebrate.
I hope you and your toddler or preschooler enjoy these amazing activities and crafts to celebrate spring and Easter.
Happy Easter from our family to yours!
